BEAUTIFUL ILLUSIONS, 2026

This series explores the tension between what appears whole and what quietly feels misaligned beneath the surface. Through layered imagery, and moments of subtle distortion, the work reflects on how easily we can trade authenticity for comfort, approval, certainty, or stability.

There is a fragile beauty in the stories we construct about love, success, identity, and belonging. From a distance, they can look luminous and complete. Yet internally, something may begin to narrow. A small compromise here. A softened instinct there. A gradual reshaping of self to maintain harmony or preserve an image.

Beautiful Illusions sits in that threshold space, the quiet moment when awareness begins. It considers the cost of self-silencing, the weight of overextension, and the subtle erosion that can occur when we confuse endurance with devotion.

At its core, this series is less about unraveling and more about awakening, the turning point where we begin to sense the difference between the story we’re holding and the truth we’re living. It is about the quiet courage required to realign, to reclaim, and to return to a steadier center.

THIRTY THREE

THE SAFE DISTANCE, 2026

This series explores the silent architecture of the threshold, the space inhabited by those who stand at the edge of the world, peering in. Through a lens that acts as both a window and a wall, the work documents the tension of the permanent observer: someone caught in the pull of a profound longing, yet held back by the paralyzing fear of what it means to truly belong.

The Safe Distance sits in that heavy, observational space where longing meets avoidance. It considers the psychological weight of being an outsider, the quiet ache of the spectator, and the self-imposed barriers we construct to protect ourselves from the vulnerability of being seen. This work is not a study of rejection by the world, but a study of the retreat from it.

At its core, this series is an invitation to witness the beauty of loneliness. It is about the quiet courage required to acknowledge one's own isolation without turning away.

These images ask the viewer to consider their own thresholds, exploring not just what we are looking at, but why we have chosen to stay exactly where we are.
