JEREMY BURKE

MY STORY

I make work about the space between people. What we let in, what we hold back, and the moment we finally see clearly.

I've spent my life building things.

Brands, businesses, systems, teams. The kind of work that requires you to keep moving, keep producing, keep solving the next problem before the last one settles.

For twenty years I scaled franchise systems, led brand and operations at companies people know by name, and built things from zero. I was good at it. I'm still good at it. But somewhere along the way I started editing my life down to the parts that were easy to explain.

The art wasn't easy to explain. So I kept it quiet.

That changed in 2025. A long marriage ended. A business ended with it. The version of my life I had been carefully maintaining cracked open, and what came through the cracks was the work I'd been making in private for years. Paintings, photographs, the questions I'd been asking myself about love and longing and the quiet ways people disappear inside the wrong story.

So I stopped editing.

THE WORK

What I'm actually making.

My practice lives in two media: abstract painting and photography. They're not separate disciplines. They're the same inquiry approached from different angles. One with my hands, one with a lens.

I'm interested in thresholds. The moment something begins or ends, but mostly the long quiet stretch in between, where most of life actually happens. The painting practice is intuitive, physical, often slow. The photographic work is observational, I'm usually capturing what I feel from the inside. Alone and distant, afraid to connect or be apart of something that would require to show my full self.

The Safe Distance

PHOTOGRAPHY · 2026

A study of the threshold, the space inhabited by people who stand at the edge of the world peering in. Shot through windows, doorways, and the soft architecture of retreat. It is not about rejection by the world. It is about the choice to stay behind the glass.

Beautiful Illusions

PAINTING · 2026 – ONGOING

About the quiet point where love stops being mutual and starts asking us to disappear. The works sit at that threshold — the place we sense something is wrong but can't yet name, because the picture still looks beautiful from the outside.

Every piece passes through my hands.

When you buy from this studio, you are buying from the person who made the work. Who painted it, photographed it, edited it, printed it, signed it, and packed it for shipping. There is no fulfillment center. There is no print-on-demand pipeline. There is me, in my studio, deciding when a piece is finished and when it is ready to leave.

Paintings are originals: abstract, mixed media, fully copyright-protected, made by hand. One of one.

Photographic prints are produced on archival fine art papers and museum-grade substrates with pigment inks rated for a century or more. Each is signed, numbered, and inspected before it ships.

The price reflects the work. Not the wall it hangs on.
